Coffee grinds? Wouldn't that be the conjugation of beans in the middle of being ground? Maybe it's a regional thing, but I always thought it was grounds.

I agree with some of the commenters on the Consumerist item, this is not so much a commentary on Comcast as a corporation as it is a commentary on a particular workplace that has a$$holes in it who don't refill the coffee pot after taking the last cup and commit other egregious workplace sins.

Me, I drink all of my coffee before I get to work because I can't stand the swill they have here.

The old boy scout mess hall mantra: you kill it, you fill it. We maintain a coffee cartel in R&D. Hawaiian beans from Kauai and Maui, mildly roasted :)

And it's even wrong. For this amount of water you'll need at least two bags to get something remotely tasting like coffee.

Alas, this is in the U.S., where the average person wouldn't know a decent cup of coffee from pig swill in a cup. I'm still amused by the concept of an Americano, which speaks volumes about American tastes in coffee.

At both my current job and my previous one, I found myself tempted on more than one occasion to put coffee making instructions on the wall by the coffee maker(s) in response to some of the things coworkers did.

Along with the people who won't make more when they take the last of what's in a pot there are also folks who make coffee in odd ways. We used to have someone here who would leave the used grounds and filter in and put a new filter and grounds on top of them. Then there was a guy who liked to put 3 packages of coffee in there. Both of those resulted in coffee that could make you do a spit-take when you drank some.

If I were to make coffee (and I never would because I don't drink it), this would be useful to me seeing as how I don't know how to make a pot of coffee.

Uhm... if you don't drink coffee, why would you be making it, especially in a work place?

I actually think the water changing one is funnier. "When you notice there is no coffee left, and/or you've used the remainder of the water..."

and/or?! So if there is water left, but no coffee, I should replace the water? But how do I replace the paper cups?!

How lame is that? Technology conquers all problems without the need for stupid corporate policies!

To get around most of the coffee pot issues that seem to pop up Microsoft ripped out all of the drip makers and installed Starbucks Interactive Cup Brewers. I'm not especially fond of Starbucks coffee but at least it produces consistent cups which can be easily doctored into not tasting like total ass.

I hate to say it but...Starbucks made drinking coffee at the office kind of a pleasure for me again. (Since I only ever drink coffee at work.)

i have no idea how to use those things. in fact I'd wager tons of non-coffee drinkers have no idea how to use a coffee machine. But we'd never need instructions for it if we aren't going to use it.
comcast sucks anyway, buncha douchebags.

To be fair, this was probably at one of the customer service centers, not one of the engineering facilities (not that I would know personally or anything...*grins*).

Then you're lucky. Maybe the segment you're on doesn't get much use.

That's one of the problems with Comcast's bandwidth usage issues as well -- they are completely unfair about it. They do not provide any sort of metrics whatsoever about how much bandwidth you are using, and how much is "too much". They just make vague statements like "download less", and then cut users off for not meeting their poorly defined expectations.

Wow, I'm actually shocked. I've never ever run into that issue, and I will download GB's in a day depending upon what I'm working on.
