Why is Anthrocon taking so long to open up hotel reservations? This is why:

Originally planned to span a frequency range of 2 megahertz to 2 gigahertz, JTRS has been expanded to frequencies above 2 GHz to satisfy space communications requirements.

Basically, it's a Software-defined Radio that can operate on any of those frequencies, because the modulation/demodulation is all done in software. That's just awesome.

I left an response on that page concerning the room charge, I don't think that's unreasonable. Do you know if there will be any issues with my existing reservation that I made right after AC 2007? I'm supposedly booked in at the AC 2008 rate of $115/night.

Though I can't help but wonder why people made reservations for 2008 before we had the room block set up...

Well, the hotel let me do it, and I wanted to make sure I got one :) I guess I just assumed that the room block already had to be set up.
