Picard on ice

Co-worker M, who is a hockey fan, informs me there is a hockey player with the last name "Picard", who will likely get moved up to the Philadelphia Flyers on a full-time basis very soon.

These are the comments from the message board he frequents, and passed on to me:

You guys are all missing the point.

With Picard, we get to have amazing fun with limitless Star Trek jokes at each and every Flyers game. These never get old. Ever. No other Phantom, or Flyer for that matter, has this weapon in his arsenel.

He should be on the Flyers forever, or until we draft someone named Spock or Kirk.

A friend of mine SAYS ENGAGE EVERY ****ING TIME PICARD MAKES A PASS OR STARTS A RUSH.

Why not just making him captain?

I've been told that when Picard played on the Phantoms (Philadelphia's minor league hockey team), he had his own fan section who would all wear Spock ears.

Personally, I'm waiting for a player named Kirk to wind up on another NHL team. I can't wait to see THAT game!

Kirk will wipe the ice with Picard, no question. Looking at the historic records, it is clear that Kirk has scored again and again and again. Picard has only scored once.
