Furry Connection North Membership Drive!

Since Furry Connection North is a first year con, they've been relying on the generosity of staff to loan the convention money. They'd like to repay them ASAP, but furs generally don't register until the month before a convention actually happens. They're getting some registrations, but to encourage more, they've organized a promotion.

The first 25 people to register will be put into a raffle to be given a free upgrade to Pimp status! (If the winner registered as a Pimp, they'll get a $25 refund.) This includes cash, check and credit card registrations, so however you register you can participate. So go to http://furryconnect.com/registration.php and register with your credit card, get the form to mail in a check, or give nikvulper or girtygrin cash and a printed out form at a furmeet.

Oh, you -are- going! I was going to post and ask who was.. it's a whole 1.5 hours from my house, I figured my friends and I would at least come down on Saturday or something. If many more people I know are going I might be tempted to stay a night.

Pimps? They're the people who beat up prostitutes and take all their money, yes? I just don't think that's very cool. Therefore I don't think glorifying the pimp lifestlye by associating it with something good like sponsoring a furry con is a good thing. In fact, I'm pretty offended by it. It would be like saying "Hey come to our con, if you give us extra money we'll let a babyfur shit on you!" ... OK I know some people who would like that, but it's just... not me. So, now I know the people running this con have an incompatible sense of humor from me, and I shouldn't go.

You might want to drop girtygrin a line privately and let him know about your concerns. After all, he can't fix the problem if he doesn't know about it.

I'm very glad this happened. This is precisely the reason that we at FCN are making an effort to advertise our convention ahead of time. We would hate for anyone who is offended by our convention atmosphere to mistakenly become part of the member base. We realize that not every fur will be able to appreciate our edgy, urban, negro events, such as "Crack Hunt", "Fursuit Ho Beatdown", and "The 5-0 Knifing and Ice Cream Social".

I believe it is fortuitous for the both of us that someone who takes life so seriously, such as yourself, should feel an aversion to our obviously anti-white, anti-suburban America event. We took a big chance with the theme and though we may lose a few incredibly intelligent furs because of it, we believe that those who attend will have a lot of fun.
