Stuff I did this weekend

It was the first weekend in awhile where I did not visit someone or have someone visit me. In addition to getting caught up on my sleep, I also took care of these items:

- Went to the company Christmas party on Friday night. Counted no less than 5 other gay couples.

- Moved MX for dmuth.org to Google Apps

- Moved MX for jbadger.org to Google Apps

- Tested out aliases for virtual domains in vpopmail for seamless transition of said domains to Google Apps

- Finished up my build script for Apache, PHP, and APC. I'll post that script here in a future entry.

- Cleaned up the development web servers on my home machine

- Upgraded the Anthrocon website to the latest and greatest version of Drupal and installed the Invite module.

- Sent out the December Newsletter for the Save Ardmore Coalition.

- Sent out invites for a Christmas party.

- Did some DNS-related housekeeping on some of my domains

- Debugged a Mailman problem over on the PA-Furry mailing list


I think I'm ready for a break now!

I've been thinking of signing up for Google apps, please let me know how it goes.

Can you use sub-domains for the different apps and, more importantly, determine what sub domains use for what apps?

I've had two non-profits running under it for several months. It's been working out great so far.

Well, is it mail.dmuth.org for gmail, docs.dmuth.org for Google docs; or maybe have lalala.dmuth.org for gmail and yaddayadda.dmuth.org for docs; while keeping dmuth.org and/org www.dmuth.org pointing somewhere else?

I could mail.dmuth.org for webmail and www.dmuth.org pointing to my website. (I currently do something like this for mail.haltabuse.org and www.haltabuse.org)

Yes, I could also pick another hostname besides "mail" if I wanted.

As for Google docs, I don't know, since I don't use it much.

I would suggest that you just sign up for an account and see for yourself. No DNS changes are required just to sign up.
