Probably the only football post I will ever make

I happen to be a fan of PlayItBogart's movies on YouTube, because he has done some rather likable reviews about certain video games of years past.

Anyway, one of the things he linked to in a recent video was his forum .signature, which incorporates some elements of a certain video game with football:



I'm not a football guy, and I don't understand everything that's in that graphic, but even I thought it was pretty clever use of video game sprites.

Those obnoxious huge .signatures are one of the many reasons Web forums drive me nuts.

Mailing lists, at least for open source software, seem to have a much higher signal-to-noise ratio and intelligence level.

Most forum software allows you to turn off signatures and avatars if you so choose. I don't mind graphical signatures (as long as they're small and not too intrusive), as they break up the blocks of text and make conversations easier to follow; instead of having to rely on chat handles to see who's talking you associate people with their signatures/avatars which you can identify at a glance, rather than a read.
