Just as the subject says, Chris Delezenski, and old geek friend of mine from high school got married on the 4th of July, so I spent some time down in Maryland for the wedding. The bachelor party on Wednesday night was fun. Just a bunch of us geek guys playing network games and drinking. There were no girls present. ;-)
The wedding rehearsal on Thursday was fun. Got to meet the Bride's family as well as the Bridesmaids, all of whom were pretty cool people to hang out with. The wedding itself was on Friday, July 4th, and other than it being VERY hot (and our pictures being taken outside), the wedding went off without a hitch. Chris and Katie Enjoyed it, and the rest of us had lots of fun socializing and dancing and stuff.
On Friday night, the Best Man (Derek) and myself got to see some of the roads of Maryland as we got lost trying to find out hotel. :-) After we found it, we hooked up with Laura, one of the Bride's Maids, and went to see Terminator 3. I thought it was a great movie, and had lots of funny references to the second movie, but there were some parts of it that were downright bittersweet. I don't want to tell anymore, so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it.
On Saturday, I drove Derek back up to Allentown. The drive there was fun. As soon as we crossed the state line into PA, I-81 turned into crap. Another disturbing thing was on I-78 East, just outside of Kutztown, I saw a sign on the right side of the road that said something to the effect of, "God hates homosexuals". I'd like to put a sign right next to it that says, "Hate is NOT a family value!". Bastards. :-(
I spent Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon with my parental units, and we played catchup on some things. I also met my sister's boyfriend for the first time. He seemed like a pretty cool guy, and my sister is happy with him, which makes me happy.
I returned home Sunday evening, and dealt with 800 e-mails in my mailbox. I hate spam.
