Anthrocon 2003 rocked this year, and in more ways than one. Just like the title of the post said, I feel redeemed. Last year's Anthrocon was a very bad experience for me due to a number of reasons, and this year's Anthrocon was immeasurably better in every way imaginable.

I spent most of the con working in Con Ops, and I'm happy that some of the time and effort I spent during the past year with things like cash registers and filing systems paid off. Things ran much smoother this year, and I was much less stressed. The downside is that I still didn't get to meet as many furs as I wanted to. The Dorsai Irregulars were back again this year, and great to have around for security problems. I managed to write a better schedule this year, so we had far less uh, surprises in terms of how long we had to stay open.

The most interesting thing came at the end of the con. 10 minutes before the end of the closing ceremonies, [livejournal.com profile] points comes running up to me screaming, "Kage needs you RIGHT NOW. An issue has come up!". So he grabs my arm, pulls me down a hallway, through a service corridor, through backstage, onto the main stage, and sits me down next to Kagemushi. The last of the people who lined up for feedback said their things and the Kage guestured to me and said something resembling, "This bald-headed guy who just joined us is Giza, he was working in Con Ops during the convention. And by the way, we elected him to the Board of Directors while he was out. Hope you don't mind, Giza."

So, yeah... Anthrocon 0wnz my entire mind, body, and soul now. If anyone has plans of meeting me at a future Anthrocon, just give up now. :-)
