Dumbass the snake, part 2

I guess dumbass didn't like me taking pictures of him last night.

I woke up to a strange smell in the apartment this morning. Some investigation revealed that he had pooped in the cage.

Right under the heat lamp.

Got to clean that lovely mess up before heading off to work.

Mine often likes to take a dump right in the corner of the cage, where it is the hardest to clean. I think that this weekend, one of my projects will be to get some silicone bathroom sealant, and seal up all the seams and corners.

In order to forestall the curious, just imagine that an 85-lb black lab somehow snuck inside the cage and took a dump. That's about the right dimensions. Rather than pee, they drop what's called a urate. It's a chalky paste that dries out quickly.

All of it also has enough odor that i can wake up or arrive home and go *snff* Oh, thank you, Tesla, you must have left me a gift somewhere. If i'm lucky, it's in a spot that's easy to clean.

Wow. My friend just got a widdle baby snake, we think mainly for a fashion accessory because she's not taking it to college and she probably won't take care of it. We're actually taking bets on how long it will take her to give it away/accidentally kill it/make it run away/get grossed out by feeding it rats once it gets bigger.
I might have to kidnap it D:
