Jun. 16th, 2002 09:43 pmBeen having fun at work the last couple of days, doing more learning of the Python programming language. I wrote my first multi-threaded program on Friday, and created a queue to simulate passing requests to it. Multi-threaded programming is pretty neat stuff. Though, just like pointers, it forces you to rewire your brain to think in different ways. After all, nothing says, "horrible to maintain" like poorly written multi-threading code. :-)
Drove up to my parents place yesterday, with it being Father's day today. They weren't around when I arrived, as they had a wedding to attend to. So, like any good bachelor son of theirs, I proceeded to drink my father's beer, feed the cat tuna out of the can, order an Extra Large pizza, and vegetate in front of their TV. Mmm... cable.
Speaking of eating, I've noticed lately that I've been eating less than I could in the past. Last night, I barely had 4 slices of pizza before I began to feel full. I don't mean "pleasantly full", but more like "stuffed". Very strange. And, when I had dinner with my parents today, I began to feel full only after having one serving of everything. Plus, I ended up napping on the couch for an hour afterward. Must be a sign of old age. :-)
My foot hasn't changed much in the last few days, I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm MUCH happier with it than I was a few weekends ago, because I'm able to at least drive my car without being in pain. I'm just kind of nervous that my foot hasn't healed yet. I really don't look forward to the possibility of walking around Anthrocon on a cane. It would severely limit my mobility. Maybe I'll call the pawdiatrist again later this week, I dunno. I think I'll wait for another few days and see how the foot holds up.
