giza | Halloween, Part 2

Holy crap I'm 32!

So Friday night got really interesting. With the Phillies having their parade in Center City, public transit was under an incredible load. All incoming train service was suspended at 1 PM, simply because every possible train car was in use to get people OUT of the city. When I tried to get home, the departure boards had no trains listed on them, trains were just coming back into city as fast as they could to get more people out. After waiting on the platform for about 25 minutes, a train labelled as an R8 came in, stopped, and was immediately redesignated as an R5. Everyone piled on, the we proceeded to blow through 30th Street Station without stopping because the train was packed full of people.

I finally made it out to the suburbs where I met up with

alsaihn (who also wore her tail) and Turtyl, and went off to the King of Prussia shopping mall for dinner. One nice side effect of the gigantic parade in the city is that despite it being Friday night and Halloween, the mall was empty. There was plenty of parking, and the restaurant we ate at had like 5 other people in it.

From there, we headed off to the theater to see Zack and Miri Make A Porno. My impressions of the movie are as follows: first, it was funny. Being a Kevin Smith movie, I kinda expected this and was not disappointed. Second, it served to put a bit of a "face" on the adult film industry, by showing some of the work that goes into making a porno. (Some of those scenes were less funny to me personally, but that's because I've actually seen them happen before.) Third, the main character was someone I could identify with on a few levels, so the movie had a bit more of an impact on me.
