Seen at my polling place:

Vote!

I went down to the polls around 9:30 AM, after the crowds had cleared out and was the second person in line. Total time to vote was less than 5 minutes.

Though the people at the polling place say that they already have a huge turnout for the time of day, and they expect a record turnout by the end of the day.

I wasn't aware the Matthew 22-21 said "Thank you for voting on Tuesday" - that's pretty amazing

Sign's a bit misleading.

It actually says, "They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."

In other words, do your duty to your country. In this case, by voting.

I didn't enter into the main part, just one of the offices.

It's the crazies who explode when a furry walks into church. ;)

Sheesh, you had to vote in a church? Did you happen to notice a preponderance of McCain/Palin campaign material in or around there?

None whatsoever.

In fact, I raised this very issue back in the 2000 election.

It was pointed out to me that churches tend to be desirable because they have: convenient locations in neighborhoods, easy access for the handicapped/elderly, cheap rental, open spaces, and not much else going on on Tuesdays.

As for campaign literature, there are laws on the books (which vary by state) regarding campaigning near election sites, clergy getting involved on election day, etc.

Really, this was just another quiet morning in Ardmore.

I still think it's weird that you voted in a church...and I actually go to them on occasion.
