Date: 2009-06-27 05:45 am (UTC)Dolph can say all the things our collective subconscious mind wants to say but can’t for societal restrictions and not be punished because he’s like a child or dimwit who doesn’t understand the consequences, and his offensive utterances simultaneously shock and delight the viewers. Dolph is very popular, and many politicians and famous people have participated in his show specifically to get yelled at, to the amusement of the Danish public and a soaring of their popularity.
Danish humour is infamous for being nonsensical to foreigners, though, so don’t despair if you can’t see why any of this is funny. ;)
