Thanks for the comments on my last post, folks. Expect more updates and random stuff from me here. :-)

Anyway, I spent most of the July 4th weekend at my parents' place up in Allentown. I ended up having an impromptu gathering with a couple of local furs earlier in the afternoon. We sat around and talked about technology for a few hours. That was fun.

I've been prepping for the next batch of changes to make to the Anthrocon Registration system. I spent some of today banging on unit tests and seeing what changed under PHP 5.3. :-P

Then I got bored and checked out the battery capacity on my Macbook Pro:

battery

Note the current battery capacity compared to the original battery capacity. Um... what? :-P

It's learning how to store more charge for you!

It's just a value, set at the factory. Not always accurate, especially when they might (say) use some cells in a batch that actually have a higher capacity but still meet the guaranteed capacity.

I wonder if your MacBook has better battery tech than my netbook. I suspect that this battery charges all the time, instead of just when it needs it.

Temperature can also affect things, so high temperatures yesterday may be giving a false reading. It's reading the excess heat as extra charge. Whether or not temperature gives you an inaccurate reading depends on type of battery and what you're using to read it. Not every battery will be affected and not every meter can be tricked that way.

But GreenReaper's explanation that you have a slightly bigger than standard battery is a more likely explanation if it still shows extra capacity when it's cold.
