Furries on CSI

gizaSo, there's an episode of CSI coming up tonight that's probably going to portray furry in a not so nice light. Repeat after me: it's happened before and it will happen again. These are growing pains that our fandom is going through. Bitching about it in your Live Journals is not the answer, nor is running around yelling "FURRY ISN'T ABOUT SEX!", because denials will only make people think that we have something to hide.
If non-furry friends of yours see the CSI thing and have questions, tell them about some of the positive things in our fandom. Tell them various conventions have raised tens of thousands of dollars for various charities. Tell them about some of the nice artwork that's out there on Yerf. Don't dwell on the negative side that CSI might portray.
Someone put together a FAQ, or more like an "Introduction to Furry Fandom" document recently. It's VERY helpful for people who have "heard" about furry from some mainstream source and would like to know more. It is on the web at: http://www.claws-and-paws.com/furry/Anonymous/furfaq.shtml
