Friday Five
Dec. 12th, 2003 06:08 pmHere's my Friday Five!
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
I'm not thrilled with it, but I can tolerate it. I spent a lot of time running around and doing stuff in cold weather when I was a kid (including camping with the Boy Scouts at -7 degrees F, woo!). I'm not as fond of snow as I used to be, mainly on account of my foot injury. Walking in snow puts more stress on it, and if I slip on ice and suddenly put weight onto the foot, that's not fun either.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
Probably with furs, since a lot of them have become like an extended family to me. I remember going to a Christmas gathering that
foxiecrumz had a few years ago, and that was pretty cool.
The next best thing is celebrating it with my family. We traditionally gather at my one aunt and uncle's place for dinner on Christmas Eve, have dinner, exchange presents, etc.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Other than the afore-mentioned dinner with the relatives, not really.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
No, but I would like to. One thing I want to talk to my employer about is the possibility of letting us be excused from work early on Christmas eve so we can help out at a homeless shelter or something. Then again, monetary donations also work.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
A boyfriend would be nice. :-) More realistically, I'm happy with the things I have now. And what I don't have, I know I can save up to buy one day. I try not to be too materialistic in life, because that only leads to coveting what others have and general unhappiness.
