Friend Test Results!
Dec. 15th, 2003 02:57 pmTime for me to tell the results to my Friend test. It looks like the high scorers, each with a scrore of 70, were:
melkitsune,
taral,
tgeller, Penn, and cmd184. I've known Taral and Tom for a number of years, Penn is my kid sister, and cmd184 is an old high school friend of mine. I'm not sure how Mel knows me so well. Am I really that transparent? :-) Anyway, on with the answers!
1. If I didn\'t shave/buzz my head, would my hair be
A) Wavy, B) Curly, C) Straight, or D) Gay?
Okay, *9* of you people picked "gay", what's up with that? :-) The real answer is C) Straight. My headfur used to be very straight, so much so that I used to have bangs as a kid. (Except for the cowlicks I had, ugh...). 10 of you got this right.
2. What is my middle name?
A) James, B) Thomas, C) Tracy, or D) Chewtoy
My middle name is B) Thomas. The majority (23) of you got this right. I found it amusing that 5 people picked "Chewtoy".
3. Why do I like cats?
A) I had a spiritual experience with one, B) My parents owned them when I was a kid, C) A stray cat "adopted" me, or D) I was raised by one.
As much as I'd like to say that I had a spiritual experience or that one "adopted" me, the real answer is B), which 10 of you got. My parents owned a cat since before I born. After he passed away when I was only 4, they got another one a few years later who lived with me the rest of my childhood and did not pass on until I was in business school.
5 of you said I was raised by a cat? Sorry, but no. However, I do have a picture of my aunt dressed up like a cat for Halloween back in 1975. Hmm.
4. What sport did I play during my youth?
A) Bowling, B) Wrestling, C) Football, D) Dodging Responsibility
12 of you figured out that I engaged in B) Bowling. I played this sport from the age of 6 until the age of 24, and finished it off with an average of about 193 or thereabouts. I won't deny that I did dodge lots of responsibility as a kid, but that's not a sport that the school would recognize. :-)
5. What was my GPA in high school?
A) 3.5, B) 1.8, C) 2.4, or D) -1
20 of you picked A) 3.5, and you 20 were... WRONG! I had a lot of issues as a kid, I was overweight, socially inept, and quite unpopular. Not surprisingly, I ended up hating school and wanted as little to do with it as possible. So I finished high school with a 1.8 GPA.
6. What was my GPA in Business School?
A) 4.0, B) 3.75, C) 3.0, or D) SQRT(-1)
Most of you got the correct answer for this one, A) 3.75. By the time I made it into business school, I had lost a little weight and matured a little. I also had the benefit of having really cool teachers (no such thing as Tenure here!) and the students who were losers dropped fairly quickly, since they were spending their own money. :-) As a result, I applied myself, did a whole lot better, and when we got our degrees, I was #1 in my class. (Of 6 people :-)
7. How many siblings do I have?
A) 1, B) 2, C) 3, or D) My parents were too scared to have any more!
I have A) 1 sibling, a younger sister named Theresa. I've been trying to get her to attend Anthrocon one year...
8. Which of the following species have I *not* dressed up as?
A) Leopard, B) Tiger, C) Fox, or D) Cheetah
Not surpisingly, no one chose A) Leopard or D) Cheetah. A few of you chose C) Tiger, which is also not correct. Just ask The SomethingAwful Goons about that one. The correct answer is C) Fox. I never dress up as my own dinner. :-)
9. Which one of these computers do I *not* own?
A) PC Clone, B) Macintosh, C) Timex Sinclair, or D) Compaw Proliant
Sorry for the 14 of you who didn't think I own a Timex Sinclair 1000, but I do in fact have one stashed away at my parents' place in its original pacakging, even! I also own a Compaq Proliant. A bunch of them were donated to The SpamCon Foundation a few years ago, and since they were too old (and used too much power, 750 watts EACH!) to be used in a data center, they currently reside in my dining room. The correct answer is B) Macintosh. I hope to get a G5 as my next computer, however.
10. My parents used to own
A) A Pizza Hut, B) A Dunkin' Donuts, C) A bowling alley, D) A bar, or E) Your mom.
20 of you thought for some reason that it was C) a bowling alley, and that was quite wrong. :-) My parents really owned a Dunkin' Donuts in Allentown for several years. They ended up being forced out of business by the greedy Dunkin Donuts corporation, which opened up ANOTHER shop less than a mile up the road. (Bastards!) Obviously, that had a significant impact on their business, and they were forced to sell the shop at a rather big loss, something they still feel the effects of today.
That's it. I hope everyone had fun taking the test!

While I knew better, I did think it was the best answer for this question. :-)

That simply begs to have you mobbed by a group of furs and thusly dressed as a fox. You do realize that, correct? :-)
