Fear my super hearing!

gizaI now have super hearing.
About 2 months ago, my right ear started ringing. Since it had gone on for so long, I visited Dr. K about it earlier today. He looked in my ears and said, "I can't see past all the earwax". So he brought out a giant syringe, filled it with lukewarm water, and squirted it in each of my ears several times. It was mildly painful because of all the wax that was being dislodged. When he was done with each ear, he showed me the balls of wax that came out. Each ear produced a ball of wax about the size and shape of a raisin. Kinda creepy. Another examination of my ears showed that everything was back to normal.
And now, my hearing is super sharp. I notice all the little sounds: the clicking of my mouse, the rustling of my pants, the static of the AM radio, and how darn loud my toilet is!
Let's see... interesting things that I did over the weekend... not a whole lot, there. I mostly hung around my place and took care of some various chores. Saturday evening I purchased Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. The game is quite impressive. I've been working my way through it and it's like... a version of Jak 2 that's more balanced and easier to play through. The main game is pure action where you fight enemies, but there's also mini-games where you can fly a ship, race a bike, or fight in an arena against hordes of enemies. There are also some really cool gadgets, like the boots that let you walk on walls ala The Matrix. I think it's worth the $40 I spent on it.
The new job is going really well. I really can't give that many details of what I'm doing, NDA and all that. But Twisted Python sure is fun! Oh, and my company laptop arrived yesterday. I've been having fun getting GenToo set up on it. GenToo is definitely a distribution for power users. :-)
