Let me count the ways:
That's 14 shots in total since last May. Oh yeah, HURT ME MORE!
So anyway, I saw Dr. G again this morning. We got the results from my latest MRI, and nothing unusual was turned up. He did some more tests on my foot, mostly pulling on my toes and the like, none of which elicited any pain. This ruled out tendonitis and some other disorder, since I have a full range of motion with my foot.
I was given another shot of cortisone in the foot, and I'll be back next week so I can get an orthotic made for my foot. We also discussed why the alcohol injections did not kill off the nerve, and one theory we came up with is that since I am younger than the typical neuroma patient, it's entirely possible that the nerve may have grown back faster simply due to my age. Fun. We also discussed other ways of killing off the nerve, and one suggestion was salt water(!) injections in the foot. Hmm.
And, here's a link I saw from
technomom's LJ:

It's good reading, as I never cared for what I perceive as mindless drivel from overly relgious people, "God created this world, science is crap, yada yada yada", and its latest incarnation, "Intelligent Design". They teach that crap in school and we wonder why our educational system is fscked.
I'll shut up now.

Date: 2003-03-12 04:30 pm (UTC)Dr. K is the physician that both Kage and myself see. Since Kage is also a doctor (Doctorate of Organic Chemistry), there's a sort of "Dr. vs Dr." rivally there. Naturally, Kage tells stories about this. :-) You can buy his 2001 tape here (http://www.unclekage.com/tapes.html).
